Organ Donor. Wood. 2011 – wooden sculptures illustrate the privatisation of human life
Our communication culture contains unspoken content wherever high-ranking authorities such as big brothers, parents, doctors or the government forbid something to be said.
With the Transplantation Act, the state passes on its monopoly on the use of force in parts to third parties.
“Organ Donor. Wood. 2011” depicts people who are stereotypically eviscerated wooden figures trimmed into commodities.
The work consists of more than 100 signed sculptures made of grown wood, glazed either light blue or white. They are stored in a food container in blue plastic, padded with newspaper.
The set is available for illustrations and on loan.
However, it can be purchased.
